Smart and sub metering helps leading UK University become more energy efficient, reduce energy costs and cut carbon emissions.

The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) has looked to Envido to implement state-of-the-art Smart and sub metering systems to help them better measure, monitor and better their energy consumption. This technology will deliver energy and cost savings for SOAS and will help them reduce their carbon footprint.

SOAS is a college of the University of London and has more than 4,600 students from 130+ countries, and it is the only Higher Education institution in the UK specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East.

How Envido is delivering savings for SOAS:

Envido are carrying out a full energy audit for SOAS, and has installed smart and sub meter energy monitoring equipment.

Envido’s expert energy auditors are carrying out an inspection and analysis of all the energy consuming equipment on site and their control strategies, leading to an understanding of energy flows through the building.

Envido's Smart metering technology will provide SOAS with information on a real time basis about its energy consumption. Sub meters will also be located in different buildings, floors or departments to help identify areas and periods of highest energy use. This information includes data on how much gas and electricity is being used, how much it is costing them and what impact their consumption is having on their carbon footprint.
